"The Refiner's Fire" is a complete, novel-length (930 pages) post-OoP sixth year story telling how Harry learns to cope with the loss of Sirius and how he faces the growing challenges Voldemort puts in his path. Rated "M" (Mature) for violence (we are at war, folks) and sexual content (the kids are growing up).
And FYI, since I'm tired of answering the "ship" question or hoping new readers will just enjoy the story and watch it develop without worrying about whether this story "ships" their way or not, I'm finally going to post the ships here: Harry/Original Character at first, then Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Tonks.
"The Time of Destiny" is the sequel to "Refiner's" and is rated "M" for the same reasons "Refiner's" has that rating. "Destiny" is still being written (I'm on chapter 32 at present) and will probably run 35-40 chapters in length, with chapters averaging from 26-50 pages, so it is already far longer than "Refiner's." "Destiny" begins literally minutes after "Refiner's" ends, and covers the summer and Harry's Seventh Year. Harry develops his magical skills, finds out interesting things about himself, snogs a lot with Ginny, plays Quidditch, gets in trouble from time to time (mostly with Voldemort and the DE's) and generally has a "typical" Harry Potter year (at least a "Refiner's Fire" Harry Potter-style year), with a lot of excitement, fun and danger, as well as romance. "Destiny's" ships are Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione and Remus/Tonks.

I think most of us here at snorkack have read Abraxan's work. Bob and Alyx recommended it in one of their first chapters of SoB (I just love that acronym!). I suppose that most of you have read "The Power Of Emotion" by Melindaleo. It has a completed sequel too. H/G, R/Hr. Then there's everything written by Jeconais. Here's a link to his page. Give it a try. He makes all pairings look good, trust me. . ummm.... What else... Give "Harry Potter and the Runespoor Shield" a look. It's a great fic, completed, too. That's it for now. -Crs --- Treck <trecklar@...> wrote: Ohhhhh I highly recommend this as well.

Agreed, Abraxan's fics are great. I'd also suggest
?
{A} "Do Not Meddle In The Affairs Of Wizards" by Corwalsh (),
?
{B} "Harry Potter and the Judgement of Fools" by Lilys1000words (),
?
{C} Harry Potter and the Azkaban Parody" by Fangalla Marie (),
?
{D} "Shadow Play" by Thor Nairda (), and
?
{E} "Detention" by Barkeeper [used to be Lady FoxFire] ().
?
C and E are good for a laugh, Barkeeper's "Death, Destroyer of Worlds" is also good.
A, B, and C are Azkaban-themed fics, one of my favs, and not the most serious or dreary kind.
D is a more active Harry with no real pairing (as far as I can tell) though at the start it looks like a Harry/Blaise.
Also, none but "Detention" has been finished, and I'm rather anxious for the updates.
?
Enjoy!

Ack! My mistake (rats) Barkeeper isn't Lady FoxFire, and didn't write "Death, Destroyer of Worlds", though Detentions is still good for a laugh. Lady FoxFire and Death can be found at ?and ?respectively. Sorry! An Wen Tan wrote:

I was disapointed with runespoor shield. The story started out great and somehow wandered into left field at the end without resolving anything. It left me wondering what the heck I had just read. :( - Bob

I have to admit when I read the mail that CRS sent said it was complete I paused because I didn't think it was I had to go to the story and re read the last chapter. It does kind of just hang there waiting. We'll just have to hope Ms. Spider writes a sequel to wrap the story up

He truly makes any pairing look good. For instance, his H/Pansy fic called White Knight, Grey Queen is a very good fic. Asad Asif.

Fin Many fics were finished in haste for the arrival of HBP and doing this made some excellent fics worthless (the ending, atleast). Asad Asif.

I agree.? I was really into it until about
half way through, then it just fizzled.? I stopped looking for updates, and
only went back to read it every month or so.
