I stayed in until I had to go to work at 9pm, the weather was good and so was traffic then but I was still late for work. I ran into a Sobriety Check roadblock about half way to work. Next day wasn't so good, but it was the 5th anniversary on my Mom's passing.

Because Danny boy was written in 1910, the best guess I could gather,
given this particular recording pre-dates the Irish troubles seems to be a
conflict in the early 1900s.

Re: Help with FanFiction Downloader

I switched to ficlab when fanfictiondownloader started to have more issues, not sure if it works with Mac but you can give it a look over and see.

I don't know about the beta, the original v0.9.5 for Windows will sometimes work if you set fairly long delay times and only do one fic, then wait for whatever reset time for Cloudflare to send a captcha again. Maybe the old Mac version will behave the same way.

WINE for Mac may also allow you to try the old Windows version in the meantime. That's what I'm doing with Linux. Make sure you install ms-fonts and Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redist into the wine bottle first.

Re: help placing a quotation?

folks,
That is part of the presentation mr. Belafonte used in his recording.
If you read in the same article, the actual lyrics, they do not include those lines.
In fact, this is my source for them, and they are spoken, not sung.

All I could find was this about the song Danny Boy.

1957 Harry Belafonte sang the song from the album "An Evening with Harry

the 2 verses. He repeated the second half of the first verse the second time
around. The Recitative goes: "The Time, a time of strife. The Place, the
place is Ireland. And as Irish legend had it, as the last rose of Summer
fell, and all the young men of Ireland were to gather to strike a blow For
Ireland's Freedom and Ireland's Liberty, There were songs for those who
stayed at home, and songs for those who went away, and all of Ireland was
sad".

Hi amazing fountains of wisdom.
Anyone know the source of the below?

"The Time, a time of strife. The Place, the place is Ireland.
And as Irish legend had it, as the last rose of Summer fell, and all
the young men of Ireland were to gather to strike a blow For Ireland's
Freedom and Ireland's Liberty, There were songs for those who stayed at

I know where I located it, but am wondering if there is more?
Thanks much,
Kare

Re: help placing a quotation?

Indeed, that is where I am drawing the line from. However, Wikipedia does not share where mr. belafonte himself got those lines from.
Nor does Wikipedia say the lines are in the actual lyrics to the song.

the specific line I quoted is in Danny boy?
I ask because, when researching the song, I came across the Harry belafonte recording referenced where he speaks these lines. Wikipedia did not indicate they were apart of the song, note the actual lyrics provided earlier in that article.
