The way is simple, the problem is that when this happens I have no idea what numbers to plug in for Pit of Voles, that's what the DNS is supposed to provide automatically.

Thanks, that worked for MacOS. Very good work.
But since no one has been able to upload or update stories I'll just keep track of any progress toward restoring normalcy in FFN.

On Linux you can put that into /etc/hosts (which has the same name as on Windows as both took the idea and name from BSD afaik).
