WinXP, 32bit... That's very behind the times?

I'm testing with Taylor Varga (FFN Version) with 393 chapters and over 1 Million words.
Note that the SV version is at 580 chapters with 1.9 Million words.

I am testing with TV while logged in, but I will also do a test while logged out using a smaller fic to see if there is any difference in number of chapters grabbed.

The FFD version I downloaded today shows the correct number of chapters (1 to 393) in the boxes.
OK, the download itself took about 10 minutes and the HTML file shows all the indicated chapters.

One thing I have noted is that the conversion to PDF does takes exponentially longer as the size of the fic increases.
That might just be down to problems in whatever converter process/plugin is being used.
For example, a single large chapter will normally take about 30-60 seconds to convert while TV's 393 chapters has taken over three hours so far and is still going.

As I usually prefer Linux, I tried the Windows port on my only remaining Win10 machine. I got a captcha when going from an author page to a story, but not when going directly to a story (from Google). They stopped after I logged in.

As far as long stories go, I used RobSt's Harry Crow () at 737k words as an experiment. When not logged in, it only grabbed 52/106 chapters. Trying again (after logging in) it got 104/106 chapters. I don't know if logging made a difference or not.

I'll try to bring another Windows box up tomorrow to see if the difference is in the login and will try the Linux port when available.

Since I'm never logged out, I couldn't tell you if there are Capchas

Captchas on ff.net are not showing for me, have never shown for me on any browser that I can use.

ff.net. Can one of you confirm that captchas are now shown on ff.net?
That would be really depressing and likely take longer to fix.

fanfictiondownloader.net won't open on my cell phone ATM . It's a samsung android if that helps. I was hoping FFD would work on android.

When I was reading on ffn on my cellphone yesterday, I noticed the desktop mode was no longer working.

Re: new ffn problem.

Just FYI, FicLab does not seem to be impacted.

@Raimond Eisele

I thought you were dead. ... You're actually alive!O_O Wow... Good.^_^

If you're still alive, and making fixes, could you fix 0.8.13? It's the last version I can use. I'm stuck using a Win XP computer. And no way to change that for the foreseeable future. And later versions DO NOT work on XP.

How come you never answer your site's message board? It's full of spam. That's why I thought you were dead.

Hope you can fix 0.8.13, or make new versions that work on XP as well.

Re: new ffn problem.

Granted, that is of no help for me personally. still, I am told on another list that ffn suffered a major major hack which is why downloaders of all types are failing.
You might want to wait until the site is fully functional before incorporating fixes for those using your program.

new ffn problem.

And I imagine I will not be the only person impacted.
When following Plot's link for a story, I was presented with a cloud related message from ffn.
My hope was that it was link specific, but now every single m.ffn bookmark I have is gone.
The request asks for verification, but for my combination of tools provides no way to confirm I am a human.
Anyone else getting this?
