Re: Information needed please.

ausfinbar

As I understand it.

england runs Regimental Units, Which are the same size as the US
Units. With 2-3 British units to a division so they are about half the
size of US divisional sizes.

They dont designate them like the US does, some units are 'named'
,these are Colour Units, eg: queens guard, Black Watch, SAS, etc etc,
but there are also just '1st Tank Regiment' and so on.
This is all done on the Regimental designation not Division as the
Brits dont seem to believe in Division size deployment in formation
rather regimental.

Cheers

Finbar

Information needed please.

OK I'm tossing in the towel here. I have searched high and low on the
net trying to find out informaiton about the British Military.
Specifically the army, unit designations etc.

If I were working with the american military it would be a lot easier,
but I couldn't find enough information to work with here. I am far
more familar with my own country's military than I am with Britain's.

So if someone can answer these questions I would appreciate it.

Does the UK have units in division sizes, or corp sized (a corp
comprises mutliple divisions) And if so, what do they call them? For
example here in the US, there are divisions like 101st Airborne
(Screaming Eagles), 7th Cavalery (air Mobile infantry), 5th Armored
(Heavy Tank Division)

I know there are unit like the Welsh Guards but I have no clue how big
that outfit is.

I've searched the MOD website for information, but came up empty handed.

I have to wonder if the lack of information is part of the post 911
security some countries have put into place.

ANd if that is the case I can assure you, I am an author of Fan Fic,
not a terrorist... ok I am a barbarian, but not a terrorist. MORE
PILLAGING!!!

Maybe, or maybe not. :)

I'll never tell.

Also, as Madame Pomfrey has expressed time and again, rest is required
for an injury to heal well. Not even magic can make up for over-
taxing an injury that's not yet healed.

Hallo Kirk

Nasty cut and paste errors. I take the blame on me.

Chap 5 is now with the correct content, and up on the webspace.

It is going to take me some times, and Bobmin, it is not your files,
it is Markus Files. Download them, then look over the files, please

My best friend tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and had to have surgery on it.? He is considered to be permanently disabled now - roughly 30% loss of mobility, if I remember correctly.
?
That scene was completely believable.? It's up to the writer to decide what magic can do - Moody has a false leg and false eye - but it's completely believable that the magical 'tech' has improved enough to now allow regeneration - if the author wants it that way.? (Canon example: Wolfsbane potion didn't exist when Remus was in school, but did by the time he returned as a teacher.)

Like any other severe physical injury, you never return to 100% again.
Harry's injury to his leg and its resultant healing has followed a
logical course of physical therapy and a realistic healing.

It is not uncommon to experience long lasting effects after a
traumatic injury has healed. Harry's lack of progress is not a
reflection of something Dumbledore is doing and more a reflection on
the fact that the extent of the injury will prevent him from
recovering 100% use of that leg again.

Given everything Fumbledork has tried and Greasy's hatred of Harry, Are they
responsible for the lack of progress on Harry's recovery. I would'nt put it
past Bumblebore to order it as a means to control Harry's mobility. Or that
Snape would alter any potions meant for Harry to be less than effective just
because he could cause Harry pain while appearing to do the right thing. Any
way loving the story and eagerly awaiting the next update.

well this was a fun chpt. gotta love the way that Gin has influenced
Luna... ya really do... well as long as you aren't on the recieveing
end of any of that influence anyway. and considering what Snivarious
and the Old Fool did to Harry there at the end, really wished that the
payback had been more through... or at least violent, ya know just to
satisfy my baser instincts. still as it appears that the Outcasts will
be leaveing Briton around Boxing Day(one assumes that's why there's the
big rush to get everyone at one place at the same time on that day)
perhaps it's for the best. and mentioning the Outcasts leaveing plans,
I eagerly await to see just what Harry has planed. eagerly awaiting
more.

I agree.? I was really into it until about half way through, then it just fizzled.? I stopped looking for updates, and only went back to read it every month or so.

I was disapointed with runespoor shield. The story started out great
and somehow wandered into left field at the end without resolving
anything. It left me wondering what the heck I had just read. :(

Hmm, after at least two whole seconds of careful and extended
consideration I have come to one inescapable conclusion. You are at
least as diabolical as Abraxan. But then again you are correct in that
fanfic readers must, by the very nature of their obsession, be at
least slightly masochistic. How else could we manage to survive day to
day or week to week waiting for the next update from out favourite
authors. Some of us, of course, are slightly more so than others of
course and get off on...ooops, that may go into the realm of TMI.
Sorry, lost my head again. (And get your mind out of the gutter, not
that head) So where was I...Oh yes. I was begging and pleading for the
next chapter so I can once again fulfill my dream of reading so late
into the night that I not only don't make it to work on time, but I
also anger my wife, wind up divorced, and live on the streets with
only my laptop and a wireless connection for companionship. Hmmm, now
that doesn't sound toooooo bad....

Many fics were finished in haste for the arrival of HBP and doing this
made some excellent fics worthless (the ending, atleast).

I too recommend all fics by Jeconais. He truly makes any pairing look
good. For instance, his H/Pansy fic called White Knight, Grey Queen is
a very good fic.
