Hi all,
If so, would you mind circulating my employer's effort to digitize our radio series on rare musicals, and build a website?

Re: A note about "A disturbing bit of plagurism" posted on another group I belong to.

I decided that I wanted to cook instead of ordering a pizza, and I made my specialty chicken fajitas with jalapenos, sweet red peppers, various cheeses, and garlic buttered tortillas. Dessert was a carrot cake roll with cream cheese.

The good thing about living by myself is that I don't have to share after I cook.

The bad thing about living by myself is that I have to do the dishes after I cook.

Re: A note about "A disturbing bit of plagurism" posted on another group I belong to.

agree regarding the fanfiction. I'm currently rereading Sunrise over Britain. Fuzz has just killed Dumbledore and now must take a bath. poor Fuzz....

these two are on my most favorite fics list

thanks to Bob and Alyx for spreading their wings... although Wizards Fall is probably my real favorite of theirs.

This. It is surely no compliment, and I do worry that someone will yoink my words for page views or counts or whatever is being used nowadays.?

Ugh. (grumbles to self, triggering funnel clouds and lightning strikes on poor defenceless trees and chickens)

And hi back, Alyx!

Bob and I put in a lot of time and effort. Someone coming along with a copy+paste? Nope. Not a compliment.

Want to compliment something a writer does? Leave a damn review. Recommend the work. Drop a private message. Don't steal it.

Oh...and hi everyone!

Re: A note about "A disturbing bit of plagurism" posted on another group I belong to.

Well, FWIW, it's almost a backhanded compliment to the writers on the list, as
most are ones I frequent, and the others I will now have to go explore. Alas,
my few works don't attract thieves.

Re: A note about "A disturbing bit of plagurism" posted on another group I belong to.

Not sure how this happened but my first post seems to have lost part of the first line of the post. It should have read.

This is a copy of what one of the people on another group I belong to posted a few minutes ago. Now I'm know that there are some on this list that are no longer with us and a few that have stopped posting so we don't know if they are or not. But if any one knows how to contact anyone on this list other than Clell, since they are the one that wrote this post originally please let them know about this.

I received this as a PM on FFN.

I discovered this morning that various works of fanfiction written by you, along with various of my own works, have been stolen by someone using the alias 'Barry Burch' [which might even be the thief's real name, for all I know] who has reposted them on a subscription website called scribd .com. The link to Burch's profile is below - if FFN doesn't edit it out:

/user/571197058/Barry-Burch/uploads

This 'Barry Burch' has stolen fanfiction written by writers on FFN who use the following pennames:

16woodsequ
Bobmin356
Broomstick Flyer
Canoncansodoff
Clell65619
Elgin
Evilgoddss
Flora Jones
HermanTumbleweed
Ironbear
Ishtar
Jeconaise
kathryn518
Lorddwar
mjimeyg
muggledad
Petrificus Somewhatus
old-crow
Realjoehundredaire
RhysThornbery
RobSt
Rorschach's Blot
Ruskbyte
Seel'Vor
SilverWolf7007
Tsu Doh Nimh
Vimesenthusiast
Witowsmp

...in total, Barry Burch has stolen works of fanfiction from twenty-eight of us.

I don't know if the original poster (Elgin) has forwarded this to everyone on the list, so I'm posting it here for those of us who frequent Caer.

From what I could see from looking at one of my posted stories, he hasn't claimed to have written the stories, but has posted them to SCRBD, a site that charges to read them and that sounds like asking to be sued to me.

I filed their 'copywrite violation' form (which isn't as simple as it could be)

Just a heads up.

As with everything, tastes vary and YMMV. That said, I won't claim that all of these are to my taste, either.

Looped is by Rumour of an Alchemist, and involves a sort-of Groundhog Day scenario with Lily repeatedly looping from October 31, 1981 back to her sorting.

A Different Halloween is by RobSt. Lily is visiting the Grangers when Voldemort attacks, which, of course, changes everything.

Based on your comment, I presume that you already know that arekay wrote Lily's Changes.

In the Hollow of the White Hazel is by OlegGunnarsson, and covers what happens when Lily comes up with a more effective secret for the Fidelius.

A Fate Worse than Death is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer cross by Clell65619, and is predicated on Lily having found a better way of protecting Harry.

Re: great Lily potter fic ideas?

Hi Steve,
may I have authors please?
FFN is not my prefered platform, I like to explore summaries, and none of your ideas share what makes them fit my requests.
for example, I rather dislike how Lily addresses Harry in Lily's changes.
Thanks for the many new ideas though,
Kare
