Re: new ffn problem. ATTN Rai

Virtualbox is a piece of software that lets you run a linux operating system as an application in windows. You install linux in the app, and then you would install FFDownloader in virtualbox. You would get a ubuntu live-usb install QT and then run the software.

I actually would try to use a linux live-usb first, because setting one up is a bit easier, I am happy to walk you?through it but you will need an old version of the tools to set it up (rufus 2.18p) because again almost everyone dropped support for XP in 2017. I think you can get it to work, with only an 8 or so GB USB stick, you install linux onto the USB stick and then reboot into that, run your stuff there, and then?

I have not run this particular setup before but am willing to try and help.? You like you can contact me off-list if you want some more help in either of these routes. My XP machine is missing a GPU so i cannot give you verified instructions right now, but I can walk you through the general process, and help with the linux stuff.

All the best

There is always the other solution. You can download virtualbox 5.0.20 (one of the last that supported XP) from? address, and then run a linux image on it, with calibre or FFN or a browser in there.?

Not ideal, I know, but it should work.
So, I can run the linux version of FFDownloader on virtualbox?

Okay.

Exactly how do I do that now?
