That would not fit one of the stories in question, its comparative chapter posted more than 24 hours ago.
If ffn does not trust their writers, then they have a problem.
All the more reason to use more than one platform for one's stories, speaking personally.

Two of the stories I follow at ao3, that also have a presence at ffn illustrate the problem. Both of them have updated in the past 24 hours. However, only ao3 has the new chapters. Ffn does not, no way to even reach a link presenting the error you are getting as I am not setup for chapter update notifications from ffn. I just have the author's page saved as a bookmark in one of my browsers.
So, lots of folks are experiencing the same sort of thing.
