Manager for Government Contract
Lone Mountain Archaeological Services, Inc. has an opening for an
archaeologist to oversee an on-call multiyear contract with the Bureau of
Land Management in our Albuquerque office. Applicants must have a good
rapport with the BLM and state officials, must have exceptional management,
editorial, research, and writing skills. This individual may also oversee
other projects.
Degree in archaeology/anthropology.
Minimum of 5 years experience in Cultural Resource Management.
Grasp of archaeological method and theory. Knowledge of and experience in
Southwestern archaeology and New Mexico archaeology is an advantage.
Demonstrated management experience, including ability to successfully
supervise subordinates and peers in a variety of field and in-house
circumstances, including overseeing and coordinating multiple crews and
tasks. Management experience is an advantage.
Experience with preparing research designs. Experience preparing proposals
and with budget management is a plus.
Ability to effectively implement a research design and work plan, and to
bring projects to successful and timely completion.
Flexibility and willingness to accept challenges.
Willingness to accept responsibility and to focus on solutions.
Excellent writing and analytic skills are required.
Ability to motivate, educate, and mentor.
Ability to effectively work with a variety of clients, regulators, and
other professionals.

Lone Mountain is a rapidly growing, five-year old firm with offices in
Albuquerque, New Mexico; El Paso, Texas; and Tucson, Arizona. Wages are
competitive and based on education and experience but for this job range
between $35,000 and $42,000 per year. A comprehensive benefits package is
provided (health, paid leave, 401 k).
