NOW HIRING: Archaeological Field Technicians, Monitors, and Project Archaeologists
Location: Hawai¡®i, Guam, Marshall Islands
Temporary, Project-Based Employment (Full-Time Potential)
AEPAC (Architecture & Engineering of the Pacific)?is seeking qualified?Field Technicians,?Monitors, and?Project Archaeologists?for upcoming archaeological and cultural monitoring projects throughout?Hawai¡®i, Guam, and the Marshall Islands. These roles are?temporary?but may lead to?full-time, long-term employment?based on performance and project needs.
AEPAC is a woman-owned, 8(a)-certified small business offering integrated architecture, engineering, and cultural resource management services across the Pacific. We are looking for dependable, skilled team members to support diverse compliance-driven projects in sensitive and dynamic field environments.

Positions & Hourly Pay Range:
Hourly rates based on experience, qualifications, and location
  • Field Technicians: $20¨C$26/hour

  • Monitors: $20¨C$26/hour

  • Project Archaeologists: $26¨C$36/hour


Compensation & Travel:
  • Competitive pay and overtime in accordance with project labor categories

  • GSA-rate per diem and lodging?provided?

  • Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement?(as applicable)

  • PPE and necessary ancillary?field equipment provided

  • Strong performers may be offered?full-time employment with benefits?on future AEPAC projects


Responsibilities:

Field Technicians & Monitors
  • Conduct archaeological survey, testing, and monitoring under the direction and supervision of an AEPAC Project Manager/Principal Investigator.?

  • Record field data accurately using standardized forms, GPS units, and digital tools

  • Identify and document cultural features, artifacts, and human remains in accordance with state and federal laws

Project Archaeologists?
  • All of the above

  • QA/QC field documentation

  • Report Writing

  • May supervise field crews?

Minimum Requirements:

Field Technicians & Monitors
  • Bachelor¡¯s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field?

  • Completion of an archaeological field school

  • Physically able to work in remote, tropical field conditions for extended hours

  • Valid driver¡¯s license?

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to military bases


Project Archaeologists
  • Bachelor¡¯s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field?

  • Completion of an archaeological field school

  • At least 1+ years of work experience with field documentation, site recording, and artifact identification
  • Physically able to work in remote, tropical field conditions for extended hours

  • Valid driver¡¯s license (clean driving record preferred)

  • U.S. Citizenship?

  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to military bases


Preferred Qualifications:

Field Technicians & Monitors
  • Familiarity with GNSS receivers & ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, and digital data workflows

  • Prior experience with DoD projects or Pacific region projects

  • OSHA certifications & First Aid/CPR certifications

Project Archaeologists?
  • Familiarity with GNSS receivers & ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, and digital data workflows

  • Prior experience with DoD projects or Pacific region projects

  • OSHA certifications & First Aid/CPR certifications

  • Graduate Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field?

  • RPA or SOI-qualified?
