SEARCH has immediate openings in the Southwestern region for Part-Time, As Needed (on-call)
Archaeological Technicians to support upcoming archaeological surveys and excavation projects. Under direct supervision, an Archaeological Technician performs and supports archaeological surveys, assessments, monitoring, and data recovery projects using
techniques appropriate to each task. The primary duty is to provide field support to cultural resource projects. This role requires basic knowledge of archaeological field survey, excavation, and laboratory techniques.?.??
Though the role is centered on southwestern regional work, archaeological technicians have the opportunity to work throughout the Unites States and occasionally internationally.?Rotation
schedules depend on project needs but are typically 10/4s, 6/1s or 5/2s.?
Starting hourly wage ranges from $20-$22 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.?Travel time is paid, including mid-project
travel for breaks.?Travel days are considered part of the rotation.?Lodging is single room accommodations and SEARCH pays per diem (no receipts needed) at a usual rate of
$50/night and $25 on demobilization days.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor¡¯s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.

Completion of an accredited archaeological field school and/or six months of field experience.

Valid driver¡¯s license, a good driving record, and access to reliable transportation.

Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including carrying up to 50 lbs. and walking up to
5.0 miles per day carrying gear over uneven terrain in inclement weather (excessive heat, cold temperature, wind/rain).
