Job Duties/Scope Of Work Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) Environmental Organization provides Subject Matter Experts and support staff whose primary mission is to ensure HMIS compliance to environmental regulations including National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Tri-Party Agreement, and conducting Environmental monitoring including collection of Meteorological and Seismic measurements and environmental media for analytical analysis, protection and monitoring of cultural and ecological resources.
General expectations and responsibilities of this position will include but not limited to:? *Manage an environmental group of subject matter experts which includes work assignments, resource management, performance reviews, salary actions, training assignments, mentoring, discipline, ranking and rating, compliance monitoring, and other manager duties as required. *Provides communication and coordination for scientific and technical staff and effective line management to ensure program execution is technically sound and executed efficiently.? *Develop and track budgets and schedules, update performance metrics, develop reports, and presentations. *Manage and lead development of technical products with a high level of quality, timeliness, and cost to meet management and customer expectations. *Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts on environmental issues and concerns to ensure resolution. *Support preparation of cost estimates, schedules, and technical approaches for submittal to customers and the client. *Track and monitor program performance and work with Management to address project issues, identify and mitigate risks, and monitor execution to identify adverse trends. *Effectively communicate with customers and management to successfully execute program tasks. *Coordinate and lead meetings with customers, other site contractors, tribes, and trustees. *Manage numerous inter-contractor work order and DOE Directed work requests ensuring the team performs work within scope, schedule, and budget.? *Provide support to field organizations and management while supporting the overall team. *Ensure excellence and completeness of all program deliverables and projects. *Operating and communicating effectively and efficiently with all levels of management on environmental issues. *Supervise staff, evaluate performance, provide leadership and correction as needed. *Building and developing strong relationships and teamwork among employees and others while exchanging feedback on issues or concerns. *Establishing relationships and working effectively with both external and internal customers to meet goals and assess customer satisfaction. *Communicate program issue/concerns to management and staff on a regular basis.
Basic Qualifications *Bachelor's degree - or an equivalent combination of education and experience. *Progressive experience in an environmental field.? *Prior experience in supervising/leading individuals or teams (example: team lead, program/project manager, supervisor, manager, etc.). *Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications *Experience managing an allocated budget and staff. *Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies. *Experience managing budgets and forecasts.
Compensation & Benefits Grade 20: $126,025 to $158,875 Grade 21: $138,700 to $174,900
