This is a pattern I have seen again and again on this list:?
1. Sister sends some heartfelt concern over current political/legal situation going on in our country (in this case from Paige, a report from employee inside the administration describing what¡¯s happening on the ground at EPA ie factual information most of us don¡¯t have access to.)
2. ?Another sister responds (in this case ME responding with a report from inside the USCGA on what they¡¯re dealing with on the ground. ?Intention again is to share info unique to individual in the interest of sharing knowledge and experience.)
3. Another sister will jump in to say: (in this case) Gee, some people are terrified about the current administration and some people are excited. ?Whose to say who¡¯s right and who¡¯s wrong?
4. ?OP will then jump in and APOLOGIZE for bringing up the topic in the first place.
5. ?We all go ¡°la la la isn¡¯t it a lovely day today?¡± And no one is allowed to bring up the topic ever again.

What is happening in this country right now is NOT NORMAL. ?If you think I¡¯m wrong just imagine Obama or Biden on his first week in office turning over all personal federal data of all federal payees to George Soros or Bill Gates. ?Y¡¯all would be screaming from the rooftops. ?(I would be screaming from the rooftops!). DOGE has no government authority and exists outside the constitution. ?This isn¡¯t about party divide anymore this is about how to salvage our democracy from the hands of those actively trying to destroy it. ?

Thank you for reading the source material. ?But respectfully, she doesn¡¯t just ¡°feel targeted¡±¡ªshe is literally and actually being targeted. ?They are trying to take her job away. It literally already happened to 6 federal employees who I know. It¡¯s about to happen with some 6,000 FBI employees, for the heinous sin of (checks notes) actually following orders from FBI superiors and doing their actual jobs.?
I am willing to respectfully discuss these changes with anyone who wishes to, perhaps somewhere different than our main list. ?But I am over pretending none of it is happening to keep some misguided notion of ¡°the peace.¡±
Some of you are apparently so excited to get your tax cuts you think the rest of us should just shut up about the authoritarians taking over. ?Not going to play, sorry.

Hello Ladies.
It seems like the population is living what I call "two completely different stories". From what I am hearing, some people think and experience the Trump administration and the people he has appointed (ex: Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, RFK, Elon, David Sacs, etc..) as horrendous and harmful to the people and the country. And then, I am noticing there is the population that is in such relief and in support of the shift in the political atmosphere.
It is interesting that both sides actually share the same experiences and sentiment however it depends on who has been elected to make the decisions. Maybe the pendulum can land in the middle?

I hope that anyone who is struggling or feeling unseen or scared finds safety and respite of mind and heart.

Yes my husband is at the US Coast Guard Academy and things are getting scary. They lost 6 members of the staff last week that were fired for being DEI or DEI adjacent roles. Also several classes cancelled (with gender or sexual orientation in the title) and several readings removed from the curriculum. (This isn¡¯t supposed to happen! They are supposed to have academic freedom in assigning readings!!)
However he retains his eternally sunny disposition (his finest quality!) and continues to maintain that all will be well. He just has to make it a year and a half until retirement.
Prayers up sisters. This is going to last awhile and it¡¯s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

I am reaching out to ask a favor. Will you contact your members of Congress and ask them to stop the onslaught of illegal and unjust actions of the new Administration?
As a federal employee who, yes, received an email this past week from my job, I am being targeted. I fully expect things to get worse for me personally before they get better.
I have the scammy, illegal "deferred resignation" offer, but as someone who works on climate change, I have no reason to believe they won't turn on me/EPA next, and will ignore my union's collective bargaining agreement and employment law while doing so.
Since to the Office of Personnel Management's massive data files on every federal employee, as well as now having (the source of social security and medicare payments, in addition to every other federal payment), it's reasonable to think that this could all happen very quickly and on a massive scale....if we let the new administration make good on these threats.
This targeting of federal workers is on top of egregious ICE raids, executive orders rolling back diversity efforts, transgender recognition and protection, illegal freezes on spending that had been legally obligated to non-profits, States, Local governments, and Tribal governments. This avalanche of threats is intended to scare, overwhelm, and freeze us all.
If my job disappears I like to think that I will be ok; I will figure things out for myself. But there are many, many people who are far more vulnerable than I am, and who won't be able to weather this storm that has been unleashed. I believe we all need to do what we can to , and to minimize the damage as much as we can.
Please contact your members of Congress, and tell them to stand up against this onslaught! Let them know you aren't interested in living under a dictator who can break all the rules. If not for me, think of all the chaos that will ripple out from these illegal, unjust orders, frozen spending, and from letting unelected, unvetted billionaires run amok within our government.
