I haven't sent an update in awhile. 7 pm is such a challenging time for me to meet, and it seems like that is generally when we meet. So sadly, I will likely not make this one tonight.?
Keith, Birch's dad, is largely not able to parent nowadays. He bought?a home on a tiny island in Maine last March. He's been living there since April, which luckily is when Birch finally went back to school. Homeschooling was fun while the govt paid me to stay home, but when that ended, it was back to work and back to school, for better or worse.?
Birch is in 3rd grade, he is 8 1/2 (the half really matters) and he loves school, reading, farting, laughing, legos, transformers and swords. We had some good podmates throughout the pandemic and made it work. Total isolation didn't work for us so we found the best middle ground we could. Balancing risk assessment with sanity is a dance with children.?
WHen I wanted to have a baby so badly, if someone told me there would be a global pandemic when he turns 7, I might have chosen differently. And I have no regrets.?
My practice is thriving right now and I just moved my office to a really beautiful space with a high ceiling. My partner, Justis, and I have been together for 5 years and had many ups and downs. We have found a stride in life together and it's really sweet. He did much of the work to create my new space here. He build his Queen a Temple. It's so beautiful.?
It has been challenging to keep up with communications of all kinds. And I lean away from extra online things, so it's tough to stay in connection with you all. I find myself on the fence between staying and flying. I miss you all. And I find it hard to figure out where the structure of our group fits into my life that I live now, and it is so clear where you all live in my heart. I have sat in this place for some time. I feel far away from you all. And generally a bit lonely. I don't have time much for connection that nourishes me.?
