Garboard drains

Okay, I'm aboard. Now how about a drain for the bilge. I know some of
you have done this. I'm thinking it should go on the vertical wall of
the bilge as far down by the top of the keel (bottom of the bilge
where the bolts come out) as it will go. Any suggestions?

Too bad, the centerboard models have one built in for the factory harpoon tool to "encourage" the board to go down when it sticks. For the winter, you just unthread the cap...?

Your only problem then is to find a sufficiently flat enough surface
on the outside hull above the keel to be able to mount the flange,
before you drill the hole. Scary thought.

This is a very comprehensive website thatdetails installation on a sabre34. I used it to install one on my 362 but used the perko one. The whole process is a little scary (drilling big holes neath the waterline) but its been a couple of years and I¡¯m glad I did it.

The original post was on Dick Coerse¡¯s website. Dick owned an exceptionally well maintained Sabre 34 and he documented all of his excellent work. Dick has not been a participant on our list for ?number of years. He was getting on in years and I believe he passed his boat on to his son. I am not sure if he is still with us or not.

You might try using one of the web archive services like the Way Back Machine. Also I believe ?correct url is www.geocities/earlylight160
