All,
So I used the Nor-easter yesterday to try and trace a persistent leak I¡¯ve had since owning Skye. The leak appears on the cabin sole at the forward base of the wet locker door, creates a nice drip down the sole to the mast base. I re-bed the stanchions
on the starboard side as well as the chainplates and lites, nada, same leak appears both in heavy rain and when underway in boisterous conditions. So yesterday I traced it to the anchor locker. I can see a nice little stream of water coming right down the
inner bow forward of the holding tank, it then runs back to the starboard side cabinets and exits at the base of the wet locker door.
So, I believe the anchor locker is collecting water and though the bulkhead looks to be nicely filleted it is obviously leaking. Has anyone had this same issue? Has anyone tried to seal the anchor locker hatch? I did see a suggestion at one point
of laying a bead of sealer around the perimeter of the locker opening and taping waxed paper to the hatch to create a gasket of sorts, seems as if it could be sloppy*.?
Any tried solutions or suggestions are appreciated.
