We have the Groco stainers on our engine and ac/watermaker intakes and have had zero problems with them. I also had them on our previous boat also. I'm a big believer in them. Just anytime you do bottom maintenance you will want to inspect and clear the holes/slots
of the strainer. They will have a little growth on them. I also would keep an eye on the stainer for the first couple of years or just to see how quickly your water environment attracts the growth. It shouldn¡¯t be a problem but you want to have an idea of
how often to clean it.?
