Clarification:
The Backbone connectors (Blue) do not have a centre pin, so there is no way that Seatalk 1 can be distributed throughout a Seatalk ng Network. I Ohm¡¯d out 400mm, 1 Meter, 3 Meter and 5 Meter Spur cables and the all have the Seatalk 1 core. However, the Stripped Spur and the SPX Autopilot Spurs do not have the yellow core.
While Dan maybe correct about the clean, elegant, scaleable solution vs. the quick and dirty solution, it is laudable that when Raymarine design something, they also keep in mind (if feasible) backward compatibility to their earlier products, whereas many other manufacturers really don¡¯t seem to care.
