Hi all, can't seem to locate a functioning link to the 2300 amplifier PDF. It was apparently uploaded by one of our good citizens back in 2012 and the link is now broken. Anyone have any data to share on this relatively rare bird? Looking to do a full resto on one over the winter and don't wish to make any mistakes. Thanks

thank you john, i await your mail,

Anyway if it has those MT-200 devices you could use the 2SA1494 for the 2SB755 and use the 2SC3858 for the 2SD845. They worked for me in an A501 amp from SAE. They’re just overkill. I got them from Bdent.com which I did just a few weeks back.

Rob,
Sounds like the same one I’m working on right now. I replaced those T066’s with new devices.
11-0066(b) MJE15032G
11-0072(b) MJE15033G
You have to do some extra stuff to them also so they don’t short out. I can explain in separate email, it’s not anything difficult at all.?
Those are Onsemi transistors. You can get them from Mouser Electronics or Digikey. Either place will have them.

You are going to need transistors with the lead spacing of a TO-3P or TO-264. The MJWs I mentioned work great but need to be fitted. TO-220s might work if you spread the leads out, but it's a very small package compared to the original Toshibas.

My comment below was in regards to an email where someone asked if those two transistors would work as a sub which I said yes as I have them subbed in a SAE A501. I don’t believe they used a MT-200 in the 2600 amp but for the T066 drivers / pre-drivers you could use the MJE15032G & MJE15033G with a little work. I just did it on a 2600 but haven’t finished it yet.

There are several legitimate electronics suppliers online.Like Digikey,Mouser,Arrow and others.I checked Avnet Express and they show the MJE15032G and MJE15033G for .66 and .98 each.Cheaper than Bdent but? I didn't check shipping costs for each. Jon

They fit on the A501 no issue. I see they are 2mm wider and like 5.5mm taller. I looked at my 2600 and the MT-200’s wouldn’t fit either but it’s like so close, heat sink overall is 140mm. So close yet so far.

The later 2600 with the toroid power xfmr used the Toshiba 2SB755 and 2SD845 as drivers. These are an XM20 package. The MT-200 package will not fit because they are too wide.. The last 2600 I rebuilt I re-drilled the PCB and bracket to fit ON Semi NJW3281G and NJW1304G.
