The only thing you need to consider on interconnects is your environment.
If you live in a high humidity condition (above 60% relative), it's best
to consider maybe a gold end connector.

Other things that effect connections is dust, airborne dirt (especially
from cooking), and that sort of thing. If your system is in a room
supplied solely by air conditioning and heating, (filtered air). There's
usually less corrosion and buildup on the connectors. If you are a
fresh-air kinda guy like myself, consider the gold ended cabling, and
every year or so you might want to treat your connectors with a cleaning
solvent. The best one is Deoxit from Caig Labs. (www.caig.com)
