Re: Power supply for SAE MARK IVC

I used just a normal $15.00 - $20.00 power strip on some of my seldom used systems. Then all you have to do is push on the red power switch on the power strip and away you go.

I will also add that I have had 3 of the Monster 3500 units that have crapped out on me just from unplugging them to change components or clean systems. Each time I plug them back in they power up and show 130 volts and continually run thru the overload cycle. i had one do that about 10 years ago and they don¡¯t do repairs on them. I had to send my unit in and get a refurbished unit for a slight saving than a new unit. I am kinda get tired of throwing them money for a product that all I have to do is unplug it and it goes south on me¡ Any suggestions for something that will work without breaking the bank? I have some Furman units with the pull out lights and they work okay put I would like a good unit to protect at least my system running the 3 P500¡¯s, VI Tuner, etc¡

Merry Christmas!
??
Thanks,
Scott

I have found that today¡¯s preamps do not have switched outlets, which poses problems as I contemplate a newer preamp. My SAE MARK IVC has no power switch and was designed to plug into a switched outlet. I have also learned that some people have a power ¡° purifier ¡° to clean up the house power coming into their sound system. Any elegant solutions to my problem that don¡¯t cost a small fortune such as the power ¡° purifiers ¡°?

Thanks
