Well that a hard one. Usually for a standard off the shelf amp, I use a
Dollar per channel watt figure of merit.
100W/Channel amp is good for $100. I call this a 1:1 (One to One ratio)
But consistent high demand for an poplular amp like SAE's could get a
1:1.5 ratio.
100W/Channel amp is good for $150.
So I would not pay more than $600 for a 2600 in my book. I bought my
2600 for $500. It worked sort and I had to rebuild it completly. But
that is a different story
In the various recent EBAY auctions where the reserves are higher than
$600 for a 2600 have not sold if I remember correctly.
