Dear Tony,
I wouldn't worry about the components in your 2200. Either the unit works or
it doesn't. There is no grey area here. The only thing for you to consider
is upgrading and modernizing your unit. This is an old unit (about 20 years
old) and electronic products do age like everything else in life. Upgrading
can restore life to these old products mainly because virtually ALL of the
active parts get replaced with new modern components. If you are interested,
please contact me at <jamesbongiorno@...> and I'll e-mail you
my schedule.

in wards web sae technical, it says that some diodes are likely to be
shorted. i just purchased a 2200 and how can i be sure if the diodes
are functioning properly? i have no experience in such matters and
can't check for myself. what are the consequences of faulty diodes?
Thanks to all who help!
