Or buy the cable and software (I have a cable for every radio I have) It simplifies the process, you just connect your computer once you build the file and upload to the radio, no SD card

I have an ft-70d also. (No sdcard in that model, yes.)
The Yaesu programming software will work, but RT must be better! The Yaesu software works, but isn't versatile at all.

Plus the RT System is very easy to use.? It is laid out just Microsoft Excel, basically just fill in the blanks.

The RT Systems software backs up your settings and my case when my radio lost everything from its memory,

RT has an import feature where you can tell it to use repeaterbook or a few other sources given

Yes NMO is the only way to go. It has a rubber gasket and is waterproof. A pl-259 is not. Plus nmo is basically flush mount. Pl-259 sticks up.
