As amateurs, we work multiple modes including HF, VHF/UHF, FT8 etc.? Texas SADRC C4FM Network has a unique language of its own and it is a great place to meet new hams and get help on questions you have about ham radio in general.? We have tremendous talent in this group and our repeater network currently has 15 repeaters connected full time.? We have plans to put up Two (2) more sites in 2024.?
Our community is entirely dependent on our participation and we would love to have you join us and help our community grow!
We look forward to hearing what's going on in your world and reconnecting with you week to week!

I've had good luck with a generic SBR15Li extended life battery on eBay with my FT5DR.
?
It's a 3800 mAh battery, with a belt clip, and it fits in the Yaesu desk charger for the FT5DR.

I like the battery pack from W0AEZ. I've had one for about a week and a half now. I can operate my FT5D for about 24 hours total on one charge. This is in scan mode with APRS running at low power. One of the attractions for me is that you can easily change out the cells when they finally go bad. You can't charge it with the desktop charger, but it will charge with the radio power port or with a USB C cable. It does add bulk to the radio and you can't use the whole radio belt holder, unfortunately.?
