SADRC Temporarily Wires X Room Number 4
开云体育Hello, ? SADRC Connections: ? San Antonio area and the state of Texas has taken a really hard hit to our Grid, Water, Sewage, Internet. Etc. Road conditions here have been really bad! ? People have died due to no power in the state.? My wife is an RN at Methodist hospital and many patients were DOA due to complications from no electricity and heating. ? At this moment, we have power but no water or sewage in North Bexar county. (San Antonio) ? We do not have snow removal and very little sand on the roads especially in the hill country.? I tried to make it down the hill today and almost crashed my daughter’s car. ? OUR SADRC Wires X 40324 is down as I have not internet to connect our room to. ? We are using Wires X 43404 W5NZK’s Node who is an owner in our Network.? We also have up the YSF US SADRC reflector but please understand I am running the Wires X connection on our 146.780 repeater via a cell phone hot spot. ? 443.200 is back up and running the Texas Nexus statewide network. ? 442.750 is connected to FCS 3 Room 46.? ? It’s very complicated but this is what we have up and running at the moment. ? Connections may be sporadic but we are monitoring the best we can to keep the network up ? You can connect to us via any of these means. ? Please be safe! ? ? ? 73 ? ? Doug Svitchan N8IQT San Antonio Digital Radio Club ? Re: Hello SADRC - 7250 Discontinuation and No Product Place for Entry Level or Secondary entry into Fusion
开云体育7250 Update ? Yaesu is a privately owned company per Juan Hernandez who runs the Service Dept for Fusion products.? It appears that there is a part shortage and this is affecting Yaesu, Kenwood, and ICOM.? ? I suggested again that they consider an immediate rebate on their FTM 300 so they don’t lose customers.? I told Juan that many are going to spend $300 on hotspots and a DMR radio and they will not receive a penny of profit.? He thought it was a good idea so we’ll see. ? SADRC Updates for December!
开云体育SADRC Wishes you!
? I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and Peace on Earth! ? We have such a great group of amateurs and a wonderful network that we continue to expand for your use!? I have this repeater listing up on our MeWe account but here is a copy of our latest repeater frequencies tied into our network.? You can find our new platform at the following link:? ? ? Just hit follow and your will be able to keep updated with us on a daily basis. ? ?
Our Wires X Room number is 40324 YSF US SADRC (84398( FCS 3 Room 46 ? I am in need of Net Controllers for 2021 ? Steve WA5FRF, Bob N2MOO, and Jeff K0BRN have contributed and helped run nets in the past.? I need to get a schedule of net controllers for Jan – March.? If you have experience running a net on a large network, I would strongly encourage you to contact me so we can get you trained including using net logger. ? BLANCO REPEATER ? Our Blanco repeater is up and running at 13 watts and covers from N. Bexar county along the US 281 Corridor to Johnson City.? It covers out East on 290 sporadically to Dripping Springs and covers all of Canyon Lake with a good mobile radio.? I am looking really hard for the best duplexers with 100Db of rejection so that we can get this repeater up to 50 watts.? Please check this machine out while traveling in Comal, Blanco, Guadalupe, Hays, and Kendall counties.? This machine also covers out I 10 West of Boerne pretty well and Route 46 to Boerne.? I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished and I can’t thank you all enough for your Gift of Money to help us maintain the repeaters.? We have so many items to manage (Not all inclusive) electricity, insurance, cables, duplexers, powers supplies, surge protectors, generators, Link Radios to transmit to the site, computers, internet, YSF Reflectors, FCS Reflectors, Wires X etc.…… Your contribution goes a long way to help us maintain the network while we continue to purchase repeaters and assemble plans to grow the network. ? ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS ? We have Three (3) repeaters that can be relocated and we need your input and help to find sites.? 147.160 can be relocated somewhere perhaps in SW San Antonio and we have Two (2) other repeaters that can be put up.? I personally would like to see a machine on the I 35 corridor in San Marcos area as that’s were we start dropping off on our 146.780.? Our 443.200 machine received better and will cover to Buda!? John W5NZK again has the 441.8125 in the shadow of our current repeaters.? He has great equipment and this can be moved if he can have 100% access to the site. ? SADRC NETS ? I will check in tomorrow night but do not plan on restarting our nets officially until the 1st week in January as everyone is so busy.? ? K5UUT ? Louis is still working on a site but has come into good fortune on a set of duplexers so he should have this machine back on the air by the end of the year or early January.? The repeater is located in Pflugerville just north of Austin. ? INDEPENDENT ?REPEATER OWNERS ? If you know of an independent repeater owner who would like to be considered to tie into us full time, please have them contact myself, John W5NZK, Skip KD4NCB, or Hans K5HUB. ? We wish you a Very Merry Christmas and hope to catch you on the air over the holidays! ? 73 SADRC Team ? ? ? -- Doug Svitchan, N8IQT SADRC Administrator |

2 Additional Repeaters to be relocated in 2021
All, As your aware, we put up a new repeater in Blanco County just north of 306 and US 281.? We received some additional duplexers that we hope will help the receiver coverage.? Our plan is to acquire a new pair for 2021.? Currently this repeater on 440.275 at 13 watts covers West to Boerne, North to Johnson City along US 281 and it blankets Canyon Lake and Comal county really well. I have a 3rd repeater and that can be relocated around San Antonio if there was someone who can sponsor a site.? Two (2) locations that I am looking at would be in the San Marcos area closer to Austin and possibly SW San Antonio to allow better coverage for West San Antonio. Louis K5UUT has a repeater on the air also in Fflugerville north of Austin.? He has been working on a tower site now for awhile.? He hasn't given up hope on this. John, W5NZK's repeater is in the shadow of our 146.780/443.200 site, so it would make sense to find a new home for this repeater as well.? This repeater currently operates on 441.8125 in Live Oak. Please advise if you can help with site locations.? We will consider other locations but the coverage maps have to make sense so we have some overlap but the repeater needs to add additional range for users.? There are other private owners who may be interested in connecting in as well. Please use and enjoy the network! Let us know if you have any thoughts on sites? Thanks! Doug?
