I found this interesting, so I signed up for it. For your information, signing up is free, but you have to consent to your contact information being released to the vendors in exchange. Here is the wording:

"I agree to share my contact information with QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo sponsors and exhibitors in exchange for a FREE ticket to the Expo and be eligible to participate in games where prizes are awarded to winners."

I'm cool with that. I figure I can always opt out of the marketing spam that will result later. Looks like some good presentations are slated.

Re: Running cable through wall

If you are looking for a no-damage solution, MFJ makes several types of panels that sit in your window for connecting and/or passing cables through. For security, one would need to add locking mechanisms to the rails of the window to keep it from being opened. Here is one example. There are others at MFJ's web site:

I would use a secondary email but if you win something it would be worth it.

Cool!

No Identification on 147.160 at 12:30 AM

开云体育

Hello,

?

?

At 12:30 AM today I was heading to bed and noticed my 147.160 repeater was being moved around on multiple networks . One of the machines that we lock out is the America Link as the repeater finals will not last as this repeater is very busy going 24/7.? It’s absolutely fine to move my machine on 147.160 off of SADRC but I just ask that when your done to put it back on Wires X 40324 (SADRC)?

?

I asked the station 3 times if they would please identify their station.? ?I told them again it was fine to move the repeater but that they needed to Identify their station.? No response and they continued to try to operate and move the repeater!? Evidentially the America Link was not locked out of this computer network and that has been resolved tonight.

?

I temporarily blocked the stations radio ID from this repeater until I can find out if it is a licensed amateur. If this was simply a mistake and you did not hear me ask for your call sign, please contact me at n8iqt@... and I will take you off of the node lockout.?

?

From time to time, I find rogue stations that refuse to identify their stations and are operating our amateur repeaters without identifying and the repeater ends up in foreign countries all night.? When we wake up and I’m not aware that the repeater is moved, we may be tying up a huge network offshore and that region of the world not speak English.? We are responsible for all transmissions coming out of this network.? Anything that comes across SADRC comes across the KARS repeater in Boerne, K5UUT in Austin, and K0BRN in Fort Worth as well.

?

These things happen but at 1AM in the morning, I have to control my amateur station.? John W5NZK is the Trustee of 443.200, 146.780, and 441.8125.? ?I have the same responsibility to manage all of the networks and I am the Trustee of 442.750 and 147.160.? Again, we want it to be an enjoyable place for all to come and have fun. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact John Douglas or myself anytime.

Recent Additions to SADRC Website

Edited

We recently have added more links to our System Fusion Links page at the club's website (sadrc.net). They include:

- Xreflector – where you can find FCS channels and activity
- Official Yaesu Wires-X Page – Education, how to use Wires-X, Node Registration & Operations, and much more.
- Full FCS Reflector List and Equivalent TalkGroups (added 7/21/20)

Our links page contain other useful links, as well. Take a look:

Also, we have added information about the FTM-300DR to our FAQs page. Here, you can check the latest firmware versions, download the newest firmware, and get directions on how to check your firmware versions. We'll add more FAQs as people gain more experience with this radio.

Zello App for SADRC Group Chats and Future Meetings - Pilot

Hello,

I set up up a members only voice app for? San Antonio Digital Radio Club app found on the Play Store on Android devices.?

Search for Zello (with an e not Zillow) and set up your account with your email and your screen name.? In the search bar, look for San Antonio Digital Radio Club.? When you click on the room name, it will prompt you for a password.

The password is sadrc55??

Their is a big push to talk button to talk on this room.

This is a pilot but I think this would be a good tool for group meetings as long as their is a group moderator to facilitate the call.? For now, if you download this, I will be listening today for activity.? We will try a live test once we get about 10-15 people connected.

Give it a try.? It works really well!

146.780 Up but the link to SADRC 40324 is down

Hello,

Due to a recent power outage, our RF link to 146.780 lost its connection and is not transmitting to this site.? The repeater itself is on the air but it is a standalone machine. ? I am traveling out of state and won't be able to resolve this until next week.

In the interim, please use 443.200 as our main SADRC site. We moved off of Texas Nexus so we have repeater for our network.? I will move it back to the Nexus when I return.? It is locked into SADRC Wires X 40324 and will not move until I return.

You can also access SADRC on 442.750, and Boerne on 444.900.

Hi...John Kruk, National Dales Manager for Yaesu and System Fusion Slecialist, and I can state that CHIRP has caused damage to radios beyond repair.

It has been said many time to NOT use CHIRP on our products. Damage by CHIRP is NOT covered under warranty and, once again, cause damaged beyond repair.?

Yaesu offers free software for some products but not all. If free software is not offered other options exist but none of them are made by Yaesu. Yaesu also does NOT test, offer support, or endorse any non-Yaesu products. Any companies or manufacturers that offer products 'compatible' or 'for use' are done by them for support or interfacing.
