When I got my S2, it took me the longest time to figure out why the cooling system didn¡¯t seem to work like it should, like the overflow container was always cool, and I finally went to the most obscure reason by talking to some people on here and looking at the book about how the line should run, only to find out that The coolant lines had been run wrong, and at that time, I also removed a radiator cap contraption that the person cut into the highest line at the motor, maybe their attempt to evacuate air out of the system when it wasn¡¯t that at all, and no problem since so no stone unturned, Gordon

I think we are referring to the following tool or many others like it. Works like a charm on my Elise, Esprit,? and Europa without fail.
I should have purchased one years ago. You'll need an air compressor to make it work. I recall purchasing it on Amazon.

Subject: Re: [S1S2euroS3LotusEspritOwners] Overheating Problem
I was having a lot of trouble getting an airlock out of a porsche cooling system. Did some research on you tube and found a tool on ebay that uses compressed air to create a vacumn in the system, then it sucks coolant into the cooling circuit with no air lock. Can't remember what the tool is called, but if you search under coolant vacumn tool, or something similar you should be golden.? Cheers from Darwin.

Hi,
I live in Queensland and since moving here my S2¡¯s tendency to overheat has got worse. I¡¯ve put in a three fan set up which helps a bit.?
The problem seems to be an airlock because of the long travel from radiator to engine. I have taken short term remedial steps, like parking nose down on a steep hill, but I¡¯d really like to find a solution.?
If there¡¯s anyone out who has there overcome a similar challenge I¡¯d appreciate your thoughts.?
Cheers,
Andy
