Hello Group Members,
I am restoring several AF All Aboard panels and to complete the repair I am in need of 3 10 1/2 “ straight track with the All Aboard tie design. Please contact me off-list. Thank You for your help.

Wouldn't that be standard Pikemaster straight track?
I'm asking for my info as well as the rest of the members.

FYI, the PikeMaster track made for the All Aboard panels have
special ties designed to accept the eyelets that mount the track
to the panel. The "normal" Pikemaster track does not have those
special ties.

No.? The PM? track for the panels had have widened ties at the spots where eyelets have to be inserted in order to attach the track sections to the panels.
? The panel track is unique to the panels.
|
Doug, I thank you for your reply. Yes I am looking for the PM track as used on the All Aboard panels. I recently came across the 8 panel winter set, the previous owner had rounded the curve panels for reasons unknown to me. One straight panel originally had the whistle but the only thing left was the whistle button. John Keating

Hi John.
That track is not easy to find.
However, I have a LOT of regular curve panels………..would be too expensive to ship due to weight and size. , but nobody buys them so I have no issue with carefully removing the curve track from them, and tossing the panels !
What do you need?

The rub here is that he needs straight pieces and the straight
panels are in greater demand than the curves.? I think I would
probably be satisfied with using regular PM track, perhaps
carefully enlarging the holes on the second tie in and suing a
machine screw and washer on the bottom side to attach.

Hello Doug,? I am in ?need of the straight track sections. In restoring other panels that had broken eyelet ties I have straightened out the rail tabs and inserted a donor tie section that once the tabs are bent to hold the donor section in place once the track section is fastened in place without moving.

The only problem with my solution is the 15 v buss and the track clips.?? That could be a problem, especially with a switch panel.? It would require an under panel jumper (maybe just an extension of the existing wire with an alligator clip to connect to the buss on the next section)or a modified track clip that would fit under the screw but connect normally on the other panel.? This would be a fix, not a restoration.

private message to John that accidentally went to the whole group.

I may be able to help.? I have tons of panels and maybe even some eyelets to fit.? Have you thought about using regular PM straights and drilling the ties for smaller eyelets or are you looking to accurately restore?? My issue right now is I’m in Florida for a bit and the panels are in VA. ? Bill Clark ?

Not sure how many, but I have some of those PM track pins that have the extension underneath for wire connections.

Good Evening Bill,
I have (currently)? A stash of All Aboard straights and curves that I haven’t found after moving from CT to GA. I have checked with Steve Amato of Hobby Surplus in Middletown, CT; he has only the short eyelets for reattaching the tracks to the panels. I have located a supplier in the MidWest that has eyelets that are 1/8” longer than original eyelets. This allows several ways to reattach the panels and the longer length allows for a custom fit. If you may have several straight and or curved All Aboard pieces of track please let me know. Doug Peck has been helpful in my quest for All Aboard track.

John what size hollow rivets will you use for your restoration..? I also have 4 panels along with regular pickmaster rail to replace the original?rail? I need?to know what size rivet to use.? Someone suggested?a more narrow rivit?for the regular Pickmaster tie.
