AF Train Master

Group,

I had a lot of links from the NASG web site to the "aftrainmaster" dot com web site. My notes indicated that it was owned/run by a "Jim Hammond". The web site became inactive a month or two ago and it now appears to have been completely taken over by a Chinese (?) company. So, apparently whomever owned the site, legitimately, has somehow let it lapse.

Unfortunately, as these things happen, I am left with no choice but to look for obituaries. So, my question is, was the aftrainmaster web site run by this gentleman:

It mentions that his favorite hobby was trains.

Any leads would be helpful,
- Peter (NASG webmaster)

Thanks for the contact but I do not believe that I am familiar at all with that name or? email address. If I can help any other way let me know.

HI Peter:

You’ve probably got this already figured out by now, but since I didn’t see any specific reply on this list, I found the following:

The ?site has a “capture” of that website ?dated February 2024, at??—
which shows the site.?

The next later “capture” ?dated July 2024 shows the Chinese site.

The site says, "If you have questions, please feel free to contact the brothers: jim (at) aftrainmaster (dot) com, and/or john (at) aftraimaster (dot) com.

The obituary you listed —?says he DOES have a brother John.j
The way the?obituary is worded, it’s not clear to me, whether it's John or John’s wife that is deceased.

At any rate, it looks like the same guy.

I’ll bet you’ve already concluded this by now, right ?.

That is a really good capture of that website.? Usually Archive.org doesn't save enough levels down to get all the features and links on a page, but it seems to have done it here.?? I have placed a link to the archived website in the Files Section of this group and you can go there to access it.?? It seems to work as well as the original site did so it will probably continue to serve as a reference, as archive.org is a pretty stable site.
