The Monon Thoroughbred

Here's the Monon's "Thoroughbred" Dining-Parlor Observation car #58. Built and painted by Bob Hogan, painted and decaled by me. The five cars are finally finished. Now I need to detail and paint the two F-3's to pull the train. I'm relearning how to program the Tsunami 2-2200.

Forgot the underbody shot of #58. Bob Hogan knows what details to include. I haven't a clue!

Roger,

Once again you (and Bob) have built a gorgeous model.? We'll look forward to seeing the completed train rolling through Indiana!? Thanks for posting the photos of this distinctive car! I love the colors and paint scheme.??

Thanks, Bill. I meant to say that I did some final detailing and paint touch up, along with the decaling.

What a great passenger car model! ?Another example of a smaller railroad creating a unique passenger experience with limited resources.
?
When will we get to see the entire train in its natural habitat?

Thank you, Dan., I calculated that the train would be over 8 feet long! I’m searching for a place to fit it in full view. It would have to be a “helicopter” shot. Before that, I need to strip and add details to my two C&NW F units before painting them in red and gray. Might take some time at my current snail’s pace.

Roger,

Higher vantage point images are now referred to as "drone shots"...and they're all the rage!
?
Real railroads now look like layouts on YouTube!

Brooks, they didn’t have drones in 1947 ?

However both small and larger blimps were popular.? I didn't prefer them, but small planes were cheap to rent too.?
So don't eliminate them from historical reproductions.?
