Much thanks to everyone who gave advice and encouragement to me on this project.? The $20 I saved on the u decorated model was more than offset by new tools including an airbrush and media blaster and paint and decals.? I did end up blasting off the first attempt to paint and prime the railings.? I did use grocery store baking soda for the blast media and it worked well.? I then primed it with automotive flexible primer designed for vinyl and fabric and the paint survived installation of the railings.

I am pretty happy with the results but it was a real learning process.

A run by :-)

Looks great, Kim. Easy to tell it's S and not HO. As Brooks Stover often observes, S scale models photograph better than HO. Models in S have so much more "presence."

Kim,
Looks good. Tools are never a bad investment.

What kind of paint did you use? It's looks like a perfect match.?
