airslide decals

I have a couple of Airslides to finish.? One will be Milwaukee grey but I am looking for ideas for the other one.? John Mann showed a great Burlington scheme but said he used decals so the car data is not perfect.? I could pay to have that corrected but before I do that, I would like to see what else is around.? I have a couple extras of the BN and MN&S for the 4180 car if anyone is looking for that car.

As I recall, there was at least one, likely more, article in RPC on Airslides.

I have decals from Highball in Rock Island, Southern and Central of Georgia. The printing is super sharp.?

Tom,
The Rock Island looks like a good choice and would likely roam the rails in my ara.

Ken

Make sure you weather it completely. RI equipment was held together by rust?

We have a GP at Union in blue. It won't weather well

So what is wrong about fading, or call it weathering, that is reality. good morning old Pete

Pete,?
The problem is we do a lot of work to make things look nice and some things look nice longer. If we have to redo things more often it takes away from other stuff. An example is the BN executive train engines. They were beautiful once but not so now

John:
It should have been spelled out...? RPC - Railway Prototype Cyclopedia

Stunning volumes jammed with prototype history, construction and photos.? Topics reflected the author's interest and vast expertise.? Ed Hawkins remains a friend and my absolute "go-to" guy for ACF information...? They quit the series in 2017 but Pat Wider has since done two "special" volumes (#'s 35 & 36) on, among other things, '37 AAR boxcars - about 300 pages each!? I've attached an index FYI...

In addition to #17, also #20 and #22, perhaps others.
Although no longer published by RPC per se, Ron's Books has since brought out some additional volumes.

Think I saw some RPC at the old Park Lane Hobby a long time ago.
