keeping it fun

All this talk about getting young people started in the hobby made me think of my age. As I have entered into my seventh decade of life I am realizing something that I just never understood as a younger man. Why there are water tanks? and coaling stations on model railroads. Our models really don't need real water or coal to run. So. Why have them? Well I now know for a fact why. Operating in the mornings after two cups of coffee. I need those pretend water tank stops. There is no pretending the loco is taking on water anymore as I make the real water pouring sound myself.
Today I have three water stops on the layout and am thinking of just one more. I feel sorry for you diesel guys that carry their toilet onboard.?

This post is in response to the last sentence of Jerrys post.?
