If the current owner of the rights to the BTS model would like to make some return on their investment by doing another run of the BL-2s, I would suggest they do not wait too much longer to do so... because when my need becomes dire enough, I will simply resort to paying someone with CAD experience to design a new and likely superior shell, etc. for 3-D printing this model... effectively making the investment of whoever bought the rights to the BTS model a waste of money. And I can see my need for some BL-2 locomotives materializing somewhere around the end of summer time this year. I don't intend to wait much longer than that. Chop chop for some ching ching.? :)

I have my work table in the basement and the desk top computer upstairs in the dining room so I printed up the instructions off the disc. I find it easier to follow on paper anyway¡..old school they say! ? ? ? Bud Rindfleisch

from Smoky Mt kits.? I'm wondering if any others have either
completed the kit or might be working on one.? I started mine a
few days ago.? It's looking like a great project and somewhat
challenging too.? I actually I really like a challenge but I'm a
bit out of practice; not to mention lots of gluing techniques
change when you're using resin parts instead of typical plastics
Since it comes with a mini cd for the bulk of the
instructions along with a collection of prototype shots, you
sort of need a nearby computer or at least a screen to reference
along the way.? I have a Mac in the next room, but I have to?
crawl several feet on hands and knees to my workbench so that's not fun at all.? Couple that
problem with the written descriptions being subject to
interpretation which really slows me down!?
On top of that I dropped the brake wheel housing
last night, then I found it, then I lost it again--so that's my
tail of tribulations so far!

Scale trains put out a statement earlier about the tariffs on china. In 2019 when they expected them model trains was exempted. Currently model trains is still at 0% tariff from china.

I came to S scale around 1994, iirc.? I've never owned AF in my life.? Lionel 0-27 and HO for decades.? ?I don't know the total history.? But a younger Don Thompson and friend might be possible once again?? I make no claim as to knowing that situation's history and welcome correction if there is a huge difference.

Of course, the new Tariffs will not help with costs.? FWIW, I have almost everything I need in S scale.? About 3 freight cars, some freight car parts and one Tobacco Barn kit and some scratch building material and spare parts are all I've ever need.? Unless AM does Southern GP-38-2 and SD-42-2's I have no interest in more modern stuff or more stuff of any kind.? Am I holding my breath on the two Southern hi-nose locos?? You guessed it.

PS,? One thing I like about S, besides the larger size, is that in HO you disappear into the mob, unless you are a leading-light modeler or wealthy.? I've made? lot of S scale friends in our little group and that is a big positive for me.?

Neil Young is a co-inventor on a number of patents assigned to Lionel (I found 19).? Here is an example of the only one I found with his name listed first. He is also the sole inventor, or co-inventor on at least three other patents which are shown in the patent references.? Those three have himself as the assignee.
