Grand Trunk had 2-4-4T's in Montreal Suburban service till the coming of larger 4-6-4T engines. They found their way to the Thousand Islands Railway in Gananoque. CNR scrapped them the 40's. It just occurred to me this morning how similar certain industrial 4-4-0s were to Forneys. Like the Bachmann On30 specimens. I have to wonder if there were standard gauge variants. I'll need to investigate.Well, the Illinois Central had 2-4-4T's (similar the the Bachmann On30 model, but bigger) and 2-4-6T's for suburban service.? Before electrification, transit elevated transit lines in Chicago, New York City and Boston used the 4-4-0RT Forneys.? A true Forney has a totally rigid frame and the main driver is blind. Re: utilizing On3 components
Well there's Forneys and then there's not Forneys. And yes they were available in all gauges.

There was some suburban locomotives that looked a lot like Forneys but of course aren't and neither ware Mason Bogies. Forneys or originally designed to run tail first hence no lead wheel, the tender truck acted as a lead wheel. In general. Thoughts? What about these (Forney frame). 4 driving wheels leaves something to be desired. About 5" long, nearly 1" wheelbase. The frame could be cut down obviously. Price Reduced-Overland B&O EMD F-7 A and B units for sale
Fixers special.
I have a set of Overland B & O EMD F-7 A and B units for sale. I have attached pictures of both sides of each model. Price reduced from $350.00 to $300.00 and I will pay for shipping to the lower 48. In the first photo of the A unit, the spacing between the I and the M in the word Baltimore is tight. The motor shaft slips in the black housing and causes the engine to not run properly. This will need to fixed. See the last photo attached. If interested, contact me off group at wkschlinger@... I accept PayPal friends and family and personal check for payment. If you pay by check, I will ship the models once the check clears. Wade Schlinger |

Re: Pondering or just talking to myself
Not always cabooses...? At some long forgotten Fest banquet, Pete Jugle (now deceased) held up some very rare Flyer boxcar and said it was from his collection and he intended it to be a "special prize".? He had someone read a door prize ticket number and immediately Dave Garrigues and Ken Hein flew to their feet (at least that is what my memory was...) with the winning ticket.? There ensued a loud argument in the middle of the banquet over who got the prized AF chunk of plastic.? Rollie rose and said he would solve the 'problem', whereby he walked up to Pete and promptly smashed the boxcar, presenting pieces to each "winner".? Of course it was all a well planned ruse that sucked in the entire banquet crowd (me included!)...? Proof once again that "30' paint jobs" will fool us all and we do all take ourselves way too seriously... Not sure if that was the beginning of car smashing but it was a fun moment.?? My sense is more people remember those "smashing" moments than specific conventions or Fests... Jim Kindraka Grand Rapids, MI P.S.? I have found the small storage drawers like Mike is using at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Target, etc... On Sun, Jun 16, 2024 at 7:55?AM JGG KahnSr via wrote:

From what I recollect hearing about the theatrics was that he did it to AF cars, likely cabooses which reproduce in dark closets.

It should make good show and reinforce the thought that I am getting a bit crazy in my old age.
Your logic is right on about steam locomotives, I can only agree because my wife will not read this post.? ?
