Re: Frog and Point Castings
I suppose I should have posted a photo.? Here it is... You would need to grind off the casting gate at the heels of the points, and also file the rail ends smooth on the frogs. ===================== I still have lots of nickel-silver investment-cast frogs and points, all with full nut/bolt detail.? Points require no notching of stock rails.? Points are 16'-6", I have both #7 and #14 (yes, fourteen) frogs that match code 125 rail. If anyone is interested, $3 will et you a pair of points or a frog.? Orders under $10 will need to add postage. Let me know off-list:? rnk2202 at yahoo dot com. -- Dick Karnes, MMR |
Re: TEST
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Rance,I subscribe to all of the S-related Groups.io mailing list, and it is very rare to see anything on the "S-Trains" group. It has always been that way since Yahoo Groups went away and Groups.io started up. This "S-Scale" group is the most active out of all. The Sn3 group gets some activity, and occassionally there is little bit of activity in the Sn2 group. Most of the others are pretty much dormant. - Peter. On 06/12/2024 03:10 AM, Rance Velapoldi

Re: Groups.IO messages not coming thru
No reply from the Groups.IO "support" person/persons.? Nothing in my Spectrum spam folders (I have one connected to email inbox and one with the folders group.? I did check my profile with the Groups.IO site and nothing has been bouncing.? I just now changed digest mode to simple text ... maybe photos and additional info included with emails is causing an issue.? My next attempt will be to add a group and see if that comes thru.

Re: For Sale: Overland ALCO S-1
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý
I don't know whether you got it, but since I didn't hear back from Rustermeir, if you didn't get it, neither of us did.??
Generally speaking, any Overland Alco in good shape for less than $400 is a fair price.

I have an original OMI ALCO S-1. Never had couplers installed, apparently not run much. It has all the detail parts in the bags and the original paperwork from Overland?
dated 1986. There is a crinkle dink to one corner of the box. The box also had what I think was a price tag that has been removed. I bought the model from a hobby shop in Westminster CA. when not thinking. I was looking for the S-2, oh well.? $380 including Priority ?Mail shipping Rusty |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI set up a special gmail account just to receive group.io messages. No problems what so ever. Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon. Rich D in Maine On 6/11/2024 5:22 PM, Rance Velapoldi

Re: Groups.IO messages not coming thru
Rance, I misunderstood your original question.? The "other" . io group, with the label S-Trains, caters more to hi-rail and AF enthusiasts.? They used to have many more members than our S-Scale list, but are now down to 228 members versus ours of over 800.? I don't follow the S-Trains posts, but it's my guess that that group tends to have fewer people actually building models.? ?In my opinion, modeling questions, responses, and comments account for most of our S-Scale messages.

Re: Groups.IO messages not coming thru
Hi Gaylord: Do you get that many for the S-gauge.io group or is this the number for the S-scale.io group?? I do get many S-scale.io messages; So possibly the S-gauge.io group is quite quiet! regards, Rance Velapoldi On Wed, Jun 12, 2024 at 5:00?AM Gaylord Gill via <gcgill=[email protected]> wrote: Rance, as of the time your message arrived today (Tuesday June 11th), I counted 13 messages posted since midnight.? Re: TEST
Hi John: Guess the question is how much activity does the S-gauge.io group have?? Is it more than 1 message a week or two?? The problem is that I only get one or two over 2-3 weeks for S-gauge.io.? If that is the activity rate, then that is ok.? I am not a member of other .io groups.? However, it seems as though there must be more activity for the S-gauge.io group than only one message every one or two weeks.? The S-scale group is quite active (although I am not sure whether it is an io group or not.? Just that there was some discussion about switching to .io a few years ago. regards, Rance Velapoldi On Wed, Jun 12, 2024 at 1:58?AM John Degnan via <scaler164=[email protected]> wrote:

I receive my messages via the Full Digest mode, which sends a single email with the day's postings.? Due to the volume, there are often two or even three such emails.?? ? ? ? Gaylord Gill ? ? ? Highland, Michigan |

Hi all: I don't know how many messages are going out.? I get one or two every once in a while.? Is there a lot of activity, or is this the activity (maybe one message per week)?? Re: Groups.IO messages not coming thru
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýJim A couple things to try, go to groups io and check your bouncing history. Also check your spam filter on where ever you get your email from, some email providers will start calling groups io spam and filter it out. You may have to look at more than one spam filter. Ian McKinley
