Engines for Christmas -- Part IV

Gents........

Christmas is approaching and keeping with the Toys for Tots tradition, I'd like to remind everyone that now is a good time to order a new engine for your wife if you want delivery before Christmas.? If you can tolerate my unusual sense of humor, the stories of postal delays are rather real and missing Christmas day can be a real bummer.? A happy wife is a happy life.? Everything I have is still for sale.

As usual, feel free to ask for more photos and details.? Make your best reasonable offer and the engine can be in the mail quickly (especially if I know you personally).? Make me smile.......

Email preferred.? Phone works.? ? ?

Re: GP35 high hood

I would be interested in purchasing a kit if you decide to sell one.? I suspect that using your nose will be easier than using the nose part that Robert Frascella offered on Shapeways.? I see having to cut off more of the original nose to fit that part and then building up the sides and roof with styrene to be more complicated for me.?

Re: Paul Vaughn

I new Paul for a number of years. He had a Sn3 railroad in his home basement. He was a member of the Olymic Moudular group which I was a member. I traveled with him to many Model RR events events. He was an unique person and will be missed by me and the PNW model RR community.?

I don¡¯t think I ever met Paul. He was on some of my Tuesday night Zoom for a while when I first started it. He frequently was talking about or partially building some really obscure project.

I am not sure what I am going to do. I am still trying to dial in my printers. I might offer a kit of the nose and new open fan grills.

Mike, I agree with Dave , foot boards for pilot and tender is the best
way to go.? You are turning a sow's ear into a silk purse as the saying goes.
Thanks for sharing your model work with the group.

Paul Vaughn

Very sorry to hear of Paul Vaughn's passing. We finally met him in Juneau Alaska while we were on a cruise in 2018. A nice guy. He will be missed, regards John & Doreen Agnew.?

Time flies around here. There's also New Haven, Penn Central & Conrail paint around the station.
At times, I've thought about taking a stab at doing the Hickory Creek, using the AM car.

Re: American Models Steamers

That does leave open a Mountain type 4-8-2 which has larger drivers. They were dual purpose locomotives.
