?I will repeat here what I posted on the video:

This is really cool.?

As a kid, I realized reel to reel was probably the best format for good sound quality.?

This sounds excellent, thanks for posting. ?

And watching those reels spin and come in and go out of sync is as satisfying as it was when I was young…

Revolution Blues. Wow, what a sarcastic masterpiece. Still makes me wince.?

Solemnity and profundity are sublime in inequity.?

This is quoted from the person who posted this on the Steve Hoffman forum:

My brother got a 7.5ips open reel copy of On the Beach recently in a random lot of other reels. It seems to be rare as there is no mention of its existence anywhere on the internet and no sales records on Discogs.

Yesterday I copied it using pretty good gear and also recorded video of the tape rolling inspired by those Christmas yule log videos. Luckily this copy is in great shape! Hopefully Neil lets this video continue to exist. From the video description:

This is a flat transfer of the rare 7.5ips open reel played back on a Pioneer RT-707 and recorded to a Sound Devices MixPre6 ii.

I figured this community would appreciate hearing this version. Happy to answer any questions about it. Enjoy!
