Okay, okay, I won't repeat that I got first row anymore at Farm Aid, did I
say I got first row? Sorry about that I am really not an arrogant ass, but
anyway back to the story.
I had two extra tickets in Section 8 and I had to get rid of them. My wife
and I noticed there were no one standing on the side of the road asking for
seats, there was no roaming the parking lot yelling for tickets or even
selling em so we decided (we're pretty stupid when it comes to this) to
stand in front of the ticket office and mention to people we were selling
these seats for face value. We weren't making a scene, but we were pretty
obvious to the ticket window. I didn't want any extra money I just wanted
what I paid for em.
i ended up telling my wife I just couldn't do this, we were going to get
stuck with em and that was that. To all the ticket brokers out there, I
still despise your practice but I admire your determination to get rid of
em.
Here comes Deputy Dan (who by the way was really nice) told us we couldn't
do this, it was against the law to sell tickets. I told him it was against
the law to try to make extra money for tickets but I could sell them at what
I paid for em (I told you I was arrogant, but I didn't throw in the ignorant
part- I was actually hoping he felt sorry for us - he probably felt sorry
for my wife) - he told us that he would confiscate the tickets, arrest us or
write us a citation. He didn't know if we paid a dollar a piece for these
seats, by this time, there were interested ears listening, so I did announce
rather loudly I just wanted face value. He gave us such a nice speech that
I believe if he left we would have been swamped. Thank you Deputy cause you
gave me great publicity, but you did frighten me cause I'd never been in
that situation before. I sold them about a half hour after his arrival and
departure. I could not believe that he actually stood by the window and
watched us for over the entire half hour. The couple that bought the seats
off of us were so nice about this whole situation. I hope you're reading
this, I never did ask for your name, I let my wife do the transaction. If
she got arrested, I was still going to see the show. LOL! Arrogant huh?
No. I ain't no dummy when it comes to tcertain things. I'd have bailed her
out Monday or something. I had the car keys.
Believe me when I say this, I do not support scalping tickets and I'm not
sure if I fall under this category, but if I anger anyone by reading this, I
apologize. I do however, realize what it feels like to be a criminal once
more. And we definitely felt like criminals. Criminal in the sense that I
ain't felt like I was breaking the law since I was a teenager. The only
difference now is that I knew it and I actually cared.
