Cross-border road trip

Four Strong Winds

Wow! I must've been talking a lot about Allison Moorer lately 'cause my
daughters have taken to teasing me about it. I'm gonna start referring to
Allison as the palomino, 'cause her long, blondish hair kinda reminds me of
a palomino's golden-cloured mane. (I guess we can call Willie N. the King of
the Palomino's then, eh?) CMT showed some footage of Willie's 10 K run in
Texas. Very kool! At the tavern in Northport tonight, the popular sentiment
was how much we-all are missing Waylon J.
Wow! at both borders tonight, neither of the officers as much as blinked an
eye when I told 'em I was drivin' to Northport to see Farm Aid on CMT, U.S.
version and I think I know why:
1) My bro often heads on down to the honkytonk bars Sat. nights to catch
some live music and they're used to him; and
2) My cousin Tony, who is two days older than me (He turned 53 on Sept.
21st) used to go to college in Pullman, WA on a track and field scholarship
so he was constantly back-and-forth across the B.C./WA border, so when they
see my last name they at least know that I'm from a certain family-line in
the Trail, B.C. area. Tony has the distinction of being the largest baby
ever born in Italy. He weighed in at over 15 pounds. Eventually, Tony was
the perfect candidate for the hammer-throwing competition.
Wow! That was one big eagle feather Neil was waving around tonight. It's no
wonder that they claim that an eagle's wingspan is the length of half of a
canoe.
