My power supply died today so got a new one and upgraded my Momboard, faster
and for extra usb port for my MS digital subwoofer and speakers. I get NO
audio either thru the monitor speaker or the ms speakers. A CD will play and
I can get audio thru CD-Rom headphone jack. I do get an error message:Window
Cannot find PROGRAM. Windows needs program to start files of type 'audiocd'.
I do not get any of the windows theme sounds (.wav). I have checked tomake
sure nothing is mute and vol is on. both monitor and external speakers. The
audio was working at the shop. The guy is at a football game so can't call
him. I am sure it is something quite simple!
I tried find new hardware and put in the windows os disc which was DIFFERENT
from the one the shop used identifined it as Win98ES and mine shows up just
as Win98 though it is the second edition.
Thanks, at least I can get on the net and to my office files...Now I'm
thinking of getting a new hard drive since mine is 4 years old.
