mental illness (was something about the Archives Guy)

Larry said: "schizophrenia AKA multiple personality disorder."

Well, Larry, obviously that college degree you've been touting isn't in psychology. Otherwise, you'd know that schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder (MPD) are not even close to the same thing. As a matter of fact, when the DSM-IV was first published in 1994, the name of the disorder was changed from MPD to Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

Schizophrenia is characterized by some, but not necessarily all, of the following features: emotional blunting, intellectual deterioration, social isolation, disorganized speech and behavior, delusions, and hallucinations.

Dissociative Identity Disorder is a condition in which a single person displays multiple distinct identities or personalities (known as alter egos or alters), each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment.

Wow, it's been a while since I've felt compelled to rant about this! :)
