Re: Archives and Anthology from the Archives (Rust Never Sleeps)

How many - (Rust Never) - Sleeps to 'Archives Day', Mr Stringy ? As my American friends might say,'I am STOKED'.

I,personally, think it is rather spiffing that Neil is giving us Vol. 1 soon.Okay, we can argue about what's there or not there, but in that regard ,I am adopting a wait & hear & see approach ,instead of criticising.

I am buying them in two formats, and then as one of these is Blu Ray , I can eventually hear & see what goodies the Neiler comes up with, in the after sales package .(downloads ,free entry to concerts for life ,invite to the Ranch ,etc. ;0) ).I won't be jumping that ole gun ! Mind you, freedom of speech & all that.Just that I am staying positive.,but that's me.

I've just read the 5 star review in the July 2009 of Uncut ,which has my appetite whetted greatly. Yum!
'Volume 1 will do just fine',concludes reviewer,Neil Spencer. It's not online as yet -do ya want me to type it all out ?

Subject: Neil Young Anthology News (no CSN content)

I just got back from Neil's ranch today and personally observed his archive
crew working at a fever pitch mastering the Anthology and other
re-releases. After trying every A-D coversion scheme in the universe,
archivist John Knowland and historian Joel Bernstein are working day and
night on the project, transferring to HDCD format. I've heard some of it,
and it was stunning. I hope the record buying public appreciates the
effort that went into this.

People will buying thousands of HDCD converters to hear this at it's best.
I'm really jazzed. These guys get to do it right.

Regards

Stringman
