Omemee Expedition (Sat. June 27th)

It looks like I'll be making a research trip to Omemee on Saturday June 27th.

I was informed that the Omemee & District Lionness Club is sponsoring a pancake breakfast in Coronation Hall from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. in honour of Pioneer Days which is running from June 27th - July 1st. There will also be displays in the Hall by the Omemee & District Historical Society. (I'm especially interested in seeing this for research purposes.) I've made contact with a long-time Omemee resident and she's taken in interest in trying to assist me with my research. She's been in contact with another long-time resident who knew Neil when he lived there and I'm hoping to meet him (and possibly some others) too.

Would anyone like to join me? I have space for 3 more people in my car. (I asked Bob if he wanted to go, and he politely declined. :) ) I thought we could make this a Rustie group outing as I'm sure there must be a few other people who would be interested.

In addition to the above activities, we'd also have the opportunity to visit the Youngtown Museum (see link below), 33 King St. W. (the former Young family home), Scott Young Public School (see link below), the scenic Pigeon River and other sites of interest.

Here's the deal:

1. I only have room for 3 other people.
2. We have to leave early in order to get there in time for the pancake breakfast. (That's where I'm going to meet my Omemee contact person.)
3. You have to agree to meet me at the Finch Station Passenger Pick-up at 7:00 a.m. (or 7:30 a.m., I haven't decided for sure yet).

We'll return to Toronto in time for dinner. I'll drop everyone off at the Finch Station Passenger Pick-up.

Contact me off-list ( sharry <at> interlog.com ) if you're interested in joining the Omemee Expedition.

Sounds like it will be a fun day (and educational too!) :)
