setupreantscope2-1.3.0.exe (Antscope) does not run after install on clean Windows 10; missing dll?
12
I just migrated from an older Windows 7 System to a newer but still not very new Dell Inspiron 15 7537 laptop with freshly installed Windows 10. All my installs, so far, (WSJTX, N1MM, DXLab suite, notepad++) have installed and run fine. So, I downloaded setupreantscope2-1.3.0.exe from RigExpert support site and, after install, I see this message: The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. You can see the system error on the screen at this virus free google photo link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TtZ9Z1sRZf8R4PE97 I did uninstall and re-install and, again, received the same error. I own the AA-54 bought ages ago (and most of my club now owns RigExpert stuff) which is a completely awesome tool and hope to be able to get Antscope, which is equally powerful, running on my Win 10 system. I also have another Win laptop, newer, that I installed and Antscope ran fine. It was year ago and I don't remember which version. If I have to I might be able to migrate that and try it. But, I hope to get this new version running. . Any thoughts or feedback would be welcome. Thank you.

Hello friends! We have released a test version of *AntScope2* with support for connecting analyzers via *BLE*. Now the connection of the analyzer to Antscope looks like this: Can be connected via USB cable and HID interface (for new analyzer models). You can connect via a USB cable and a virtual COM port (for older models of analyzers with an FTDI chip, as well as for AA-55 Zoom with Bluetooth Classic). Can be connected via BLE (for analyzers with BLE module). We tested the operation of BLE with Windows 10 (build 2021) as well as Windows 11. In earlier versions of Windows, connecting via BLE will not work. We do not have the ability to test the operation of BLE and AntScope2 for macOS. I would be grateful if you take this upon yourself. There is no version for Ubuntu yet. Links: For macOS: https://rigexpert.com/files/software/Antscope/antscope2formacos/AntScope2-1.3.0-mac.dmg For Win: https://rigexpert.com/files/software/Antscope/antscope2forwindows/SetupREAntScope2-1.3.0.exe Don't forget to update the firmware of your analyzers using FlashTool: https://rigexpert.com/files/software/FlashTool Sincerely, Alex Antonov UT2UM

AntScope 2 on IOS still not connecting
6
After five months I still cannot connect my RE230 to my iPhone or iPad A. Yes all drivers, firmware, software and squirrels are up to date. Funny thing, the first time I used it on my iPhone, it worked then lost connection and I have not been able to reconnect. AntScope 2 just does not show the RE230 device on a search. Fortunately I have an old Android tablet that will work with the RE230. So anyone else still frustrated with lack of IOS support?

Firmware release descriptions AA-1500 Zoom

HI, Where can I find what has been changed/added/improved between the different firmware versions? There is always a risk related to flash new firmware. If the new versions does not add an sigificant improvement to my analyzer, i will not update the firmware. But then I need to have a firmware history description. Can you please help me out here? Best Regards Jan H?ydal

AA-3000 ZOOM - First Impressions
2
Let me start by saying that I've had an AA-600 for seven years, so I'm quite familiar with the form factor and general operating characteristics of the flagship "green" analyzers. Somehow my initial review of the AA-600 was erased from eham.net (I was review #1 of that analyzer), but my follow-up review is still there. I had mentioned that they should make a rubberized cover for the device, which was never done...until now! The AA-3000 ZOOM comes standard with a silicone cover. This is a nice touch, even if it isn't going to be as durable as a rubberized cover. Also, you can't get to the battery compartment with the cover on. This is a bit of a mistake, but the cover is nice enough if not super tight fitting. The tradeoff for the silicone cover is that they no longer include the nice blue case. The AA-3000 ZOOM came to me from RigExpert USA with version 1.0 firmware. Today v1.1 was released, but I can't see any difference and the info file lists 1.1 as the initial release. So maybe they just re-released 1.0 as 1.1. Not sure. I believe functionally its identical to that of the AA-2000 ZOOM except that range has been extended to 3GHz. I don't think there are any other changes and the AA-2000 ZOOM has already been extensively reviewed, so I won't elaborate further. Now for the bad. Firmware versions 1.0 and 1.1 have a bug that function F + 0 freezes the analyzer and only a battery removal will reset the device. None of the buttons work as the analyzer is frozen. I've notified RigExpert Ukraine and RigExpert USA & Canada but haven't received any feedback on this issue. Initially I wasn't sure if the Bluetooth module worked in my AA-3000 ZOOM. I couldn't get it to work with any external software. I knew from reading the forums that AntScope2 didn't support BLE yet, but I had the latest AntScope for iOS which was supposed to support the AA-3000 ZOOM. It does not. AntScope2 for Windows and Mac is now out in a beta (v1.3.0) that partially works with the AA-3000 ZOOM. One of the biggest failures is that AntScope2 1.3.0 recognizes the AA-3000 ZOOM, but somewhere it mistranslates it as an AA-30. This means that it will only do an SWR scan from 100 kHz to 30 MHz. Kind of a bummer, but I suspect that will eventually get fixed. When connected via USB, there is no issue with scanning the full range from 100 kHz to 3 GHz, only when in Bluetooth mode. Overall I suppose I will like the AA-3000 ZOOM once I get used to the buttonolgy changes from the AA-600. It's just as well made as the AA-600 and now I can do measurements up to 3GHz. Once the bugs are addressed, this will be a fine bit of kit.

Loading Calibration S1p Files in AntScope2
Using AntScope2, I have created .s1p calibrations files for the antenna coax feed line but I can't figure out how to apply the calibration data to the antenna sweep results to null out the feed line for a more accurate reading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

70 cm Question
I have the 650 ZOOM with firmware 1.9. In the Americas we have access on 70 CM between 430 and 450 MHz. The SWR graph only shows in the Gray area between 430 and 440 MHz. I have selected the different regions of the world to see if this changes but it does not. It looks like a bug in the firmware that only shows this 10 MHz area as being Gray but it should show Gray for the entire 20 MHz area of 70 CM Bruce N7XGR

Measuring the resonance of a loop segment
#AA-230-ZOOM
The subject of the post doesn't really sum this up, but it's the best I could come up with. Bear with me... I'm building a 6m uniform current loop as detailed here. The loop is 0.84 wavelength total, divided into seven segments, so each segment is 0.12 wavelength. Each segment is terminated with a capacitor to offset the inductance of the length of wire, therefore, each wire+capacitor segment should be resonant at 6m. I have built this antenna before without the benefit of an analyzer. It's rather tedious to adjust (but worth it in the end!) as each segment length must be adjusted to maintain the current distribution and subsequent pattern of the antenna. I am wondering if there is a way that I could use the analyzer to measure the resonance of each segment to get them all adjusted before final assembly. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 73, Matt, N0EYE

Antscope software wont recognize my AA230
Whats the trick to getting Antscope to connect to the analyzer? I saw somewhere something about ListRE, but I see no command like that in the Antscope directory. Also, the manual says something about pushing the up arrow button to enter PC mode, my up arrow just scrolls thru the menu?

RigExpert Stick XPro Screen

Hi Is the RigExpert Stick XPro's screen readable in direct sunlight? Or is the Stickpro 230 with paper display the only one that can be read in direct sunlight? I really struggle with reading the displays on Rigexpert displays without a cover.

[Aerial-Talk] Homework for Ed
2
This fellow is looking for an explanation of phase, as reported by the RigExpert and AntScope. Could anyone here help him out? AG6CX Since I do not understand the difference between the Phase indicated on my RigExpert Analyzers and the actual phase of the antenna being measured, perhaps you can find the time to help. You already have an Aerial-51 Model 807-HD antenna. Please measure it with your RigExpert AA-230 antenna analyzer, and record your results. Please re-measure it with a proper VNA (or however it should be measured) and record the results. Please show us the difference. Extra Credit: Please explain it to Rick in simple terms with the hope that he might understand. Extra Credit-2: Is there a way to identify the true j0 of an antenna using a RigExpert analyzer? If so, please show us. Thank you. 73 - Rick, DJ0IP (Nr. Frankfurt, Germany) May the Sunspots be with Us! -- 73, Rick - DJ0IP May the Sunspots be with us!

Reading AA-54 Results in win 10 PC
11
I have an AA-54 Analyzer that I would like to see the results of a recent antenna scan on my win 10 PC. Never tried this before. Have the unit hooked to PC via USB cable and see PC mode on the screen of the Analyzer. I installed AntScope2 v1.2.6 on PC, but once it's open I am at a standstill. Don't see what to do next. I may be wrong but thought recent scans are stored on the Analyzer and could then be reviewed in more detail on a PC. Are there better programs then this one? Can anyone share a few tips on how the get to first base on this one? 73 Paul w2eck
