It should see both dipoles just the way it is.

I suspect you have a bad connecting cable or something is wrong with your AA-55 Zoom.? Have you tried connecting a dummy load to see if it is close to 1:1 ??? If that works try a 100 ohm and a 25 ohm resistor.? They should read 2:1
