Paul, You were connected to me earlier.? I'm still seeing 20 seeders connected to this torrent including myself.? I'm guessing that your torrent client only connects to as many seeders and peers that are necessary to max out your bandwidth.? I've been using BitTorrent for almost 20 years now, but there are some things about it I only assume based on my experiences. Let us know if it doesn't get better tomorrow. 73 - Dave, W4DTR On 10/31/2019 13:44, Kwacka via

I've run out of this month's allocation from
my ISP, so I am cut back to 512Mb/s (until tomorrow)
Earlier today I was downloading from about
10 seeders, now it's just one (in The Netherlands) - has
everybody else downloaded and closed their torrent?

DaveLew, I don't know Alex G. Perhaps you could make a formal introduction for the expected release of HamPi 1.0 next weekend? 73, ? -- - Dave ?? |

[snip]The successor to the "W3DJS Raspberry Pi for Ham Radio Image v2.0" is "HamPi 1.0" which has an expected release of next weekend -- one week before Field Day. HamPi is compressed using "XZ" and the compression process by itself takes 45 minutes, but results with a 3GB compressed image file. Fortunately, decompressing it is a fraction of the time to compress. ? -- - Dave ?? |

[snip]You're welcome! I have just made the 32Gb card, using Win32DiskImager under windows 7 and works like a charm on RPi4 4Gb.This is not necessary. Both W3DJS v2.0 image and HamPi image come with SSH Server enabled. Thanks to the forum, I got the RPi ok on my home network ( I was confused with the hotspot dand did not understand why the dhcpcd.conf file was empty :) it is always the first file I edit when run a RPI card for the 1st boot. Maybe a readme file could be a good idea).HamPi has removed the WiFi hotspot. It caused too much confusion. And I have added a README with the file download and also on the HamPi Desktop GUI. I will install at first step : ( maybe some ideas for your future V3 ... ;) )These are great suggestions. Would you mind taking one more step and adding *ONE* issue per program suggestion to the Issues page for HamPi? Its URL is??Thank you. Another application about pocsag Flex hermes and so on exists, "Boswatch "but I met some bugs ( with Python, SQLand PHPmyAdmin in their new versions), and I stopped to work around.I am not adding WEBMIN to the image. However, you are welcome to customize your own image with it. access via http://IP:10000 or hostame:1000073 from your friends in the USA. ? -- - Dave ?? |

David, Don't worry about the W3DJS v2.0 image anymore. HamPi is its successor and, God willing, goes live next weekend. It will be seeded via BitTorrent and also be available via direct download. ? -- - Dave ?? |

开云体育Lew, How on earth does this work? I went to Alex's web site and can't find a howto or anything that doesn't assume you already know what's going on. 73, John W4JKL On 6/13/20 6:50 AM, Lewis Duffing

?I finally was able to download the program using bitorrent. Great program !!!? I tried it on my third Raspberry pi 3-B works great. I would like to ask you to contact Alex Goldcheidt to add a copy on his " site he has set up.? Berryboot allows you to boot many different raspberry pi programs without having to change the SD card. I bought a large 256 GB USB Flash drive which contains my many programs. It uses the small SD card only to start the Raspberry Pi so improves the SD card's lifetime. I was able to ask Alex to add the SDRplay software to his site several years ago so I can use my SDRplay SDR receiver on my Raspberry PI. With Berryboot I am able to use my Raspberry pi to play games, use my SDRplay, run ADSB programs and even run versions of Window software by just rebooting into Berryboot and picking which program I want to run. 73s Lew Duffing |
开云体育My question was sent to the group, not to you specifically. In the list of changes, posted to the group, was that line. I was merely trying to clarify it. kd4e > On 5/24/20 3:04 PM, Jon Moran wrote: No idea what you are on about as > you have not quoted anything... > > On Sun, 24 May 2020 at 18:38, David KD4E <dcolburn@... > <mailto:dcolburn@...>> wrote: > > The use of the word "for" here is confusing to me. > > "APRS Message App for JS8Call with JS8CallUtilities_V2" > > Did you replace APRS with JS8Call, or JS8Call with APRS, please? > > Thanks, > > David KD4E |

Jon,
1. Yes SA I read it all. 2. How long has this thread been going and the image is 17GB and compress would be so much smaller It doesn't take long to compress a file before offering it to folks to download. That only makes sense and I guess I send the message as did others for the same reason. It was done if only to help push the point home and bang a few heads together to get the job done. In my line of work something simple it just taken care of. Its the slackers that let stupid crap lay around and do nothing with it. Yes you struck A cord and I answered. I'm done now. |
