USB means you need to haul a lap top. For audio work-

Yes, I have remotely transmitted GPS using gpsd and a Bluetooth serial port. I have used it for remote sound, keyboard and, mouse.

Linux has great support for Bluetooth. I have used Bluetooth to do many things with my pi..
The only problem, Is that is very difficult to configure. Do your research.

The most likely cause is that your user doesn't have access to the i2c
device. The i2c devices belong to group i2c, and command groups will list
which groups you belong to .
