Same for The PiShop.us - ordered placed on Sept 28, and still waiting. My order has listed as “sequenced for shipping” for the last two weeks. They are also “holding” a few other items I ordered at the same time, all were listed as in stock in September.?

Of course, they charged my credit card few days after the order was placed.

I won’t be ordering from them again.

Re: RPI5 / Bookworm / WSJTX / Icom IC705

For follow-up, RPI5 with Bookworm OS and X11 desktop works with WSJTX and JTDX flawlessly with the IC705 when ECHO is turned off.

RPI5 / Bookworm / WSJTX / Icom IC705

I have WSJTX 2.6.1 and JTDX 2.2.159 installed (via sudo apt install ...) and working on my RPI5 with an IC7300.
I am unable to get either to connect to an Icom IC705 via USB (115200, N 8 2). The RPI5 sees the IC705 ports (ttyACM0 and ttyACM1) and the TI Burr-Brown audio codec - I get communications errors or protocol errors. The error messages displayed by WSJTX show that the RPI5 / software is reading some of the called values (VFO frequency) but not completing the connection. I also see the IC705 change frequency as it is polled by the software.
Has anyone been successful in connecting to an IC705?
Or is there an error in libhamlib for the armhf / linux package for the IC705?
The IC705 works without difficulty with the same software settings when connected to my Win10 desktop.
Any help will be appreciated.

My suspicion is that it will work just fine.? I have a motor control hat on my Pi 4B, one which takes +12v in for the motor and then feeds +5 down to the Pi for its power too.? Very handy.? I asked one of the early Pi-5 reviewers if it would work with the 5 - i.e. could you feed power down to the Pi via the GPIO pins just like the earlier models - and the answer was yes.

I also have a much more power hungry Nvidia Jetson Nano (several actually) in my workshop and they last days in 5w mode when power is lost. Obviously the Nano and Pi aren’t compatible but what I believe is possible is stacking even more batteries perhaps 24 or more, however, the circuit simply isn’t beefed up enough to charge such high capacity and the limit for the X750 is 12 x 18650 and around 38.4amp total capacity via the XH2.54 connector.

? ? Geekworm claim there is no limit to stacking X750-A2 battery boards but the overall charge current will only be 2.5amp. So recharging 12 batteries from a presumed flat (only a fool would run their 18650’s that’s low) but for the sake of argument it would take a little over 16 hours to recharge. I use genuine Panasonic 18650’s and they seem to last ages and take around 11 hours (basically over night) to recharge 12 from 25% capacity.

? I will buy a Raspberry pi5 in the coming week and try out my X750 on it but confident it will work but I would suggest wait until you hear from SupTronics as they may have modified version in the pipeline.?
